Development, not hype.

NodeIQ is a real engineering program at the prototype stage. The architecture and product direction are defined, including a flagship hardwired ignition controller; the validation evidence required for any launch decision is still being built.

VERIFIED PROGRESS

  • Android application prototype exists.
  • GPS speed and phone connectivity have been demonstrated in testing.
  • Separate IMU and GPS/gateway ESP32 test topology is defined.
  • The preferred low-power production architecture has been selected.
  • Core telemetry, diagnostics, node management, and ride-log requirements are documented.

ACTIVE VALIDATION GAPS

  • Ignition trigger detection, base timing, dwell, map limits, and failsafe behavior.
  • IMU orientation, lean calculation, acceleration rejection, and vibration baseline.
  • Reliable SD logging and prior-ride map rendering.
  • 802.15.4 leaf hardware, RF range, interference tolerance, and battery life.
  • Off-cycle charging control, environmental durability, and repeatable installation.

FLAGSHIP VALIDATION PROGRAM / IGNITION

Prove every spark-critical behavior before the road.

The planned controller keeps timing execution hardwired and local. Wireless links carry configuration, diagnostics, telemetry, and map transfers to the central hub—never the real-time spark command.

01 / Trigger identification

Identify cylinder count, trigger pattern, edge polarity, synchronization, and supported sensor behavior.

02 / Static timing & dwell

Verify base timing, coil protection, dwell control, voltage compensation, and thermal limits.

03 / Map validation

Validate RPM/load maps, guardrails, versioning, apply/rollback behavior, and dyno procedures.

04 / Fault & road testing

Exercise wireless loss, brownout, reboot, sensor faults, EMI, fallback behavior, and controlled road tests.

Future development: automatic detection will propose a configuration; a qualified installer must verify engine setup, static timing, safe limits, and every map before operation.

Validate sensor accuracy, calibration stability, data integrity, RF performance, and charging behavior.

Test installation time, fitment, documentation, serviceability, and durability with a small cohort.

04 / Go or no-go

Proceed only when performance, cost, reliability, and rider demand meet predefined thresholds.

The short version

NodeIQ has a credible product concept and coherent technical direction. It is not manufacturing-ready. The future ignition system and wider integration roadmap must earn their place through stable telemetry, safe timing control, low-power hardware validation, and repeatable installation.
